Samsung are back on the blog today with a bang as we have some new leaks of their new Japan-only smartphone, the Samsung J. This is Samsung’s new top of the line Android handset that will be released on NTT DoCoMo as part of their winter lineup.
Specifications of this device show it’s a real top end phone and we think it’s best described as a cross between the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3. For consumers who want colour choice (something that’s particularly popular in Japan) there are three different colour schemes to chose from – Coral Pink, Lapis Blue and Satin White which should be enough for most tastes but we personally would have liked to see more much like the Moto X.
As for internal specicications the device reportedly will come fitted with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC, 3GB of RAM, and 5” 1080p display. Shooter wise users can look forward to a 13MP rear camera, 32GB of storage to store all their photos and 3,000mAh battery
We believe that the device will be making an official appearance on October 10. Pity this one is Japan only as it looks a real nice device.
Galaxy S4 Active with Snapdragon 800 Leak
You might remember that several weeks ago a Snapdragon 800 version of the Galaxy S4 Active cropped up in a range of benchmark scores but since then it’s been very quiet on that front however that changes today as leaked documents (see above & below) show diagrams of the phone and reveal it’s nigh on identical to the current Samsung Galaxy S4 which has been a real top seller here in the UK.
So in terms of specification it will have the exact same dimensions as the Galaxy S4, the same 5″ 1080p LCD display plus the hardware buttons underneath, IP67 certification (water resistant and dust tight) and 2,600mAh battery.
As far as we can tell so far the only difference seems to be the chipset – Snapdragon 800 MSM8974 instead of 600 – the chip of course gives the phone LTE-Advanced connectivity which in some circles will be seen as a vast improvement.
As per the leaks it looks like this device will be coming with South Korean availability on SKT under the model number SHV-E470S. We wait with baited breath to see if this one makes worldwide release or ever comes to the UK. Of course if it does we’ll let you know.
Would you guys like to see the Samsung J or Galaxy S4 Active make it over here to the UK?
