Disney Enters Mobile Phone Market

A small update today and one that won’t appeal to all of you but news that Disney is entering the smartphone market. Disney has one of the most powerful brands in the world and with children getting phones at a much younger age it makes sense they have finally decided to cash in.

Disney Enters Mobile Phone Market

The Disney Magic 1 might is only available in China, but we could well be seeing it in the UK soon and it does look like it’s official.

The phone has fariyl decent specification too including a 720p 4.5″ screen, a quad-core 1.2GHz processor made by MediaTek MT6589, 1GB RAM, am 8 megapixel rear camera, 2 megapixel forward facing camera and 16 GB storage plus a decent 1700 mAh battery. Price point would be around £200 make it fairly affordable.

We’ve been doing some digging and it’s not actually Disney’s first effort at a phone, back in 2006 the company launched the D100 which had a quad-band GSM chip and was available in Europe but for some reason never launched in the US.

It could be a great seller amongst children and even adults who have still not yet quite grown up so we think it’s a smart move from Disney and should they ship it from China it could be a big seller at Christmas.
